Chris Broussard: Suns Need to Trade Kevin Durant ASAP

Watch Chris Broussard and Rob Parker of Fox Sports Radio’s The Odd Couple discuss the Phoenix Suns’ humiliating first round sweep to the Minnesota Timberwolves, as Broussard thinks it’s time for the Suns to rid themselves of Kevin Durant.

Check out the segment below as Broussard floats potential trade destinations for the 35-year-old who is still one of the most potent scorers in the league coming off a dominant 27.1 points per game season on .523 shooting.

Rob Parker: “When you think about where the Suns are -- they’re doomed. They’re really in a bad spot for a long time to go.”
Chris Broussard: “Here’s what they have to do. As great as he is still, I think they have to trade Kevin Durant. You can’t trade Bradley Beal. We talked about ‘untradeable contracts.’ No one is 100% untradeable but who is taking him [Beal] for three years, $160 million when he hasn’t played more than 60 games since 2019? And he didn’t play that well in these playoffs. He was terrible yesterday, who is taking that?? Devin Booker is young enough where I want to build around him.
I’m looking to see what I can get for Kevin Durant. Golden State – Jonathan Kuminga and a bunch of picks, and I can get Chris Paul’s contract. Oklahoma City has got a ton of picks but they probably don’t have the contracts to make it work. There’s the Lakers, the Knicks. There’s a lot of teams out there who could use Kevin Durant. It’s gotta be a team that’s close to a championship. What if Boston loses? If Boston for some reason doesn’t get to the Eastern Conference finals, would you take Jaylen Brown and Jrue Holiday for Kevin Durant? I gotta be right on the doorstep of a championship.”
Parker: “Recently, he just doesn’t seem the same to me. Even in the postseason. The numbers are there but it doesn’t seem they register into wins . That’s scary as you get older. Let’s be honest – that health issue is always there with him now, it just is.”
